Location
Nestled along the Pinjal river in Baste village, Wada
Macro Climate
Predominantly Warm & humid, with heavy monsoon during the months of June- September
Site context
The site is a contoured land sloping towards the South where the Pinjal river flows. The plot is abundant with native and grown trees which were conserved during the design of the house.
Sustainability
Local timber is used and treated herbally, allowing the house to be as breathable as possible.
Most walls of the house are constructed using Mud mortar with lime pointing. This keeps the house up to 3 degrees cooler than the outside temperature during peak summers.

RCC FILLER SLAB
This smart and optimised technique was used in the house to save concrete and steel in the overall project budget.
LOCAL CARPENTERS
The structure was built by engaging local carpenters from the village and were encouraged to learn new techniques from our experienced carpenters.
LOCAL LABOUR
The house was successfully built throughout the COVID lockdown as local labour was employed for the structure. They were taught new techniques by our experienced craftsmen .
TO SCALE MODEL FOR EXECUTION
A to scale model made and explained on site to the crafts persons helps them visualize the final form of the building. This helps the execution of works to progress smoothly.
